MATERIAL:
2 balls Fingering — or Sock yarn, 3 ply (1 oz. ball)
1 set bone sock needles No. 1 and No. 2
1 stitchholder

GAUGE: 7½ sts. = 1 inch

PATTERN:
   K2, P2 for entire glove.
   Cast on 48 sts. (16-16-16) with No. 1 needles. Join and work K2, P2 for 2½ inch. Change to No. 2 needles and work even until entire piece measures 4½ inch. Slip next 8 sts. to a stitchholder, cast on 8 sts. and join. Work even for 2¼ inch. Slip all the sts. to a thread. Take off for Forefinger 8 sts. from palm and 8 sts. from back of hand and cast on 4 sts. in between. Work even for 2¾ inch. Next round: * K2 tog. P2 tog. Repeat from * around. Work 2 rounds even K1, P1. Break yarn, leaving about 7 inch. Thread a tapestry needle with this end and run twice through remaining sts. Pull sts. tog. and fasten off on wrong side. Take off for Middlefinger: 6 sts. from palm, cast on 4 sts., take off 6 sts. from back of hand and pick up 4 sts. on the 4 cast on sts. of forefinger. Work even for 3 inch, decrease and finish off as on forefinger. Take off for Ringfinger: 6 sts. from palm, cast on 4 sts., take off 6 sts. from back of hand and pick up 4 sts. on the 4 cast on sts. of middlefinger. Work even for 2¾ inch. Decrease and finish off as on forefinger. Take off for Little Finger the remaining 8 sts. and pick up 4 sts. on the 4 cast on sts. of ringfinger. Work even for 2 inch. Decrease and finish off as forefinger. For Thumb take the 8 sts. from stitchholder, pick up 2 sts. in the corner, pick up 8 sts. on the 8 cast on sts. and pick up 2 sts. in the other corner. Work even for 2¼ inch. Decrease and finish off as forefinger. Work other glove to correspond.
