SIZE—Infant.

MATERIALS—SPINNERIN HEAVEN SPUN 1 ball; small amount contrasting yarn for embroidery; 1 set double point needles No. 12; 1 steel Crochet Hook No. 3.

GAUGE—9 sts. = 1 inch. 16 rows = l inch. Accurate gauge is essential.

PATTERNRound 1—*P1, K1, P1, K9, repeat from * to end of round. Round 2—*K1, P1, K1, K9, repeat from * to end of round. Repeat these 2 rounds for pat­tern. Cuff—Seed St. K1, P1 around (if round ends with knit, start next round with knit, if round ends with purl, start next round with purl).

Cast on 48 sts. and join, being careful not to twist sts. (16 sts. on each of 3 needles). Work in seed st. for 1¼ inches. Work beading as follows: * K1, YO, K2 tog., repeat from * for 1 round. Work in pattern given above until work measures 4 inches from start. Dec. in 4 plain panels as follows: *K2 tog. twice, K1, K2 tog. twice, work 3 seed sts. as usual, repeat from * for 1 round. Work 1 round even. *K2 tog., K1, K2 tog., work 3 seed sts. as usual, repeat from * for 1 round. Work 1 round even. *K2 tog., K1, work 3 seed sts. as usual, repeat from * for 1 round. Work 1 round even. K2 tog. all around. Break off yarn, leaving enough to draw through all sts. Fasten off. Using contrast­ing color, make a loose ch about 14 inches long. Work 1 row of S. C. on this ch. Fasten off. Run cord through beading at wrist, tack ends to form small bows. Em­broider each of 4 plain panels in mitten as shown in illustration.
