LEFT FRONT … Work to correspond with Right Front, ending at neck edge. Do not bind off, but continue as follows:

BACK … Cast on 17 sts for back of neck. Starting at neck edge, work in pattern across 51 sts of Right Front (119 sts in all). Next row: (Wrong side) Moss st over 5 sts, p 25, moss st over 3 sts, p 13, moss st over 27 sts, p 13, moss st over 3 sts, p 25, moss st over 5 sts. Work in pattern as now established for ½ inch. Continue in stockinette stitch (k 1 row, p 1 row), binding off 30 sts at beginning of next 2 rows (thus completing sleeves). Work straight for 1½ inches. Then inc. 1 st at both ends of next row and every 6th row thereafter until there are 71 sts. Work straight until piece measures 6 inches from bound-off sleeve sts. Work ½ inch in moss stitch. Bind off. Sew underarm and sleeve in one continuous seam. Press through damp cloth.

EMBROIDERY … With a basting stitch, mark off a triangle just inside moss stitch border on each Front. Split Embroidery Floss and use 4 strands. With Blue, work straight vertical stitches, separated by one stitch of knitting, within bounds of triangle. Then work horizontal straight stitches over the vertical stitches, thus making crossbar effect. With Pink, embroider a small cross stitch over intersection of each crossbar. Use two 18-inch pieces of ribbon; loop the ends and sew on as in illustration.
