MATERIAL:
2 balls Sock yarn 3 ply, m. c. (1 oz. ball)
1 ball Sock yarn 3 ply, 1st c. c. for band (1 oz. ball)
1 ball Sock yarn 3 ply, 2nd c. c. for band (1 oz. ball)
1 ball Sock yarn 3 ply, 3rd c. c. for diamond (1 oz. ball)
1 pair knitting needles each No. 1 and No. 2
1 set sock needles No. 2
1  set of yarn bobbins
2  stitch holders
1 card Nylon for heel and toe reinforcement

GAUGE: 7 sts. = 1 inch

Note: Main color = M
1st c. c. = G (band)
2nd c. c. = Y (band)
3rd c. c. = R (diamonds)
Wind 2 bobbins each in M and R Wind 1 bobbin each in G and Y

With M and No. 1 needles cast on 64 sts. and work back and forth in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 3½ inch. (2 inch, for shorter socks). Break yarn. Change to No. 2 needles, stock, st. and pattern. Follow Chart No. 307. 1st row: Attach a bobbin of G, K 10 G; attach a bobbin of M, K 21 M; attach a bobbin of R, K 2 R; attach another bobbin of M, K 21 M; attach a bobbin of Y, K 10 Y. 2nd row: P 11 Y, 19 M, 4 R, 19 M, 11 G. Follow Chart No. 307 until 64 rows are worked, ending with a P row. Break off all bobbins. Attach M and K across 16 sts., slip them to a holder, work across instep sts. as follows: Attach a bobbin of M, K 15 M; attach a bobbin of G, K 2 G; attach another bobbin of M, K 15 M. Slip the rem. 16 sts. to a holder and work over instep sts. only as shown on chart until G and Y diamonds are completed. Break bobbins and slip sts. to a sock needle (2nd needle). From now on follow instruc­tions of Diamond Chevron Socks Pattern starting with Heel.
