MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Columbia-Minerva Calibar (2 oz skein) Main Color (MC) - 12(13-14-16) skeins and 1 skein Contrasting Color (CC) for all Sizes
Columbia-Minerva Nylon and Wool Calibrette (2 oz skein) Main Color (MC) - 11(12-13-14) skeins and 1 skein Contrasting Color (CC) for all Sizes
Knitting Needles: 1 pair "Boye" Size 10 ½ - 14 inch
Gauge: 3 ½ sts to 1 inch: 5 rows to 1 inch
1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "G" (Size 5)
BACK: With MC cast on 60(63-67-70) sts. K 1 row, P 1 row, K 1 row. K next row on wrong side of work for turn of hem. Continue in St St, working even until work measures 13 ½”(14”-14”-14 ½”), or desired length from turn of hem. To Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Work even until armholes measure 8”(8”-8 ½”-9”), measured straight from bound-off sts at underarm. To Shape Shoulders: Bind off 6(7-7-7) sts at beg of next 6(2-4-6) rows, then bind off 0(6-6-0) sts at beg of next 0(4-2-0) rows. Bind off rem sts for back of neck.
LEFT FRONT: With MC cast on 27(30-32-35) sts. K 1 row, P 1 row, K 1 row. K next row on wrong side of work for turn of hem. Work 3 rows in St St, then cast on 11 sts at front edge for front band and facing 38(41-43-46) sts on needle. Continue in St St until work measures same as Back to underarm. To Shape Armhole: Bind off 4 sts at side edge, then work even until front edge measures 15”(15 ½”-16”-17”) from turn of hem. To Shape Neck: Bind off 6 sts at front edge, then dec 1 st at same edge every other row 10(12-13-15) times. When armhole measures same as at Back, To Shape Shoulder: Bind off 6(7-7-7) sts at armhole edge every other row 3(1-2-3) times, then 0(6-6-0) sts 0(2-1-0) times. Place markers for 6 buttons at front edge, having first marker ¾ inch above turn of hem and 6th marker ½ inch below bound-off sts at neck edge.
RIGHT FRONT: Work to correspond with Left Front, having incs and decs at opposite sides and working double buttonholes to correspond with markers as follows: Starting at front edge, K 2, bind off 2 sts, K 3, bind off 2 sts, work to end of row. Next row cast on 2 sts over each set of bound-off sts.
SLEEVES: With MC cast on 32(32-34-36) sts. Work hem same as on Back, then continue in St St. When work measures 1 inch from turn of hem, inc 1 st each side, then inc 1 st each side every 1 inch 12(13-13-13) times more - 58(60-62-64) sts on needle. When Sleeve measures 14 ½”(14 ½”-15”-15”), or desired length from turn of hem, bind off all sts.
POCKETS: (Make 2) With MC cast on 21 sts. Work in St St for 4 inches, ending with a P row. Start pat on next row as follows: Row 1: With MC - K 2, *CC - K 1, MC - K 3, repeat from * across row, ending CC - K 1, MC - K 2. Row 2: *MC - P 1, CC - P 3, repeat from * across row, ending MC - P 1. Row 3: With CC - K. Row 4: Same as Row 2. Row 5: Same as Row 1. With MC - P 3 rows, then work 4 rows in St St, bind off.
COLLAR: With MC cast on 65(65-69-73) sts. Work in St St, inc'ing 1 st each side every 4th row 4(4-6-6) times - 73(73-81-85) sts on needle. When work measures 4 inches from start, ending with a P row, work pat and finish as for pockets.
Sew shoulder seams. Sew Sleeves in place. Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Turn up hems and sew. Turn under 6 sts at each front edge for facing and sew, working around buttonholes. Place marker at center back of neck and at center of Collar. Sew cast-on edge of Collar to neck edge, matching markers. With MC work 1 row of sc up front edges and at sides of Collar. Turn down hems of pockets and sew. Sew a pocket to each Front, 3 ½ inches from front edge and 1 inch above hem at lower edge.
