MATERIAL:
1 ball Mohair (40 gr. ball), or
1 skein Knitting Worsted (2 oz. skein)
2 sets sock needles No. 6

GAUGE: 5 sts. = 1 inch

Cast on 6 sts. (2 sts. on each needle), join to a round. K1 round and mark end of round.
2nd round: Incr. 1 st. in each st. (12 sts.)
3rd round: * K1, incr. 1 st. in next st. Repeat from * around (18 sts.)
4th round: * K2, incr. 1 st. in next st. Repeat from * around (24 sts.)
5th round: * K3, incr. 1 st. in next st. Repeat from * around (30 sts.)
Cont. to work this way incr. 6 sts. every round and having 1 st. more between the increases in each round until there are 78 sts. in round. (When there are too many sts. on needles, take additional needles from 2nd set of sock needles.) Work even for 1 round. Then work 1 round increasing as before. Repeat last 2 rounds until there are 96 sts. in round (about 6½ inch. diameter). Work even for 10 rounds. Start to decrease now:
1st decr. round: * K10, K2 tog. Repeat from * all around (88 sts.) K1 round even.
2nd decr. round: * K9, K2 tog. Repeat from * all around (80 sts.) Knit 1 round even.
3rd decr. round: * K8, K2 tog. Repeat from * all around (72 sts.) K1 round even.
4th decr. round: * K7, K2 tog. Repeat from * all around (64 sts.) Knit 1 round even.
Work in ribbing K1, P1 for 3 rounds. Bind off loosely K as K and P as P and block to size.
