Ribbon for trimming

GAUGE: 7 sts. = 1 inch
LACE PATTERN:
1st row: * K3, y. o., slip 1, K2 tog., pull the slipped st. over the K2 tog., y. o., repeat from * across, end K3.
2nd row: P across row.
3rd row: * y. o., slip 1, K2 tog., pull the slipped st. over the K2 tog., y. o., K3, repeat from * across.
4th row: P across row.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.
Note: On hat and booties end the 3rd row: slip 1, K1 and pull the slipped st. over the K st., K1.
BACK: Cast on 75 sts. with No. 3 needles and work in seed st. for 1 inch. Change to pattern. With 75 sts. work even until the entire piece measures 6½ inch. Bind off for armhole at the beg. of the next 2 rows 5 sts., at the beg. of the next 2 rows 2 sts., decr. 1 st. each end of every other row until 57 sts. are left. Work even for 2 inch, from the first binding off. Slip sts. to a stitch holder.
FRONT: Cast on 38 sts. with No. 3 needles and work in seed st. for 1 inch. Keep the 5 center front sts. in seed st. all through the entire jacket for border. Change to pattern. With 38 sts. work even until the entire piece measures 6½ inch. Bind off for armhole at seam edge 6 sts. and at the beg. of the next 2 rows at seam edge 2 sts. (28 sts. left). Work even for 2 inch, from the first binding off. Slip sts. to a holder and work other side to correspond.
SLEEVE: Cast on 49 sts. with No. 3 needles and work in seed st. for 1 inch, increasing 8 sts. at even intervals across last row. Change to pattern. With 57 sts. work even until the entire sleeve measures 7½ inch. Bind off at the beg. of the next 2 rows 3 sts. Decr. 1 st. at the beg. of each row until 43 sts. are left. Work even as long as front and back. Work the other sleeve to correspond.
YOKE: Slip the sts. from first front, first sleeve, back, second sleeve and second front to one needle and continue to work in lace pattern for 1 inch. Change to seed st. and work as follows: Put a marker after first front, another one after first sleeve, another one before second sleeve and another one after second sleeve. Next row: Work to within 2 sts. of first marker, K2 tog., K1, slip 1, K1, pull the slipped st. over the K st. Work to within 2 sts. of next marker, K2 tog., K1, slip 1, K1 and pass the slipped st. over the K st. Work within 2 sts. of next marker, K2 tog., K1, slip 1, K1 and pass the slipped st. over the K st. Work to within 2 sts. of next marker, K2 tog., K1, slip 1, K1 and pull the slipped st. over the K st. Next row: Work across in seed st. Repeat these 2 rows (decreasing 8 sts. every other row) until yoke measures 2 inch. Next row: * Work 5 sts. in seed St., y. o., P2 tog., repeat from * all across row. Work 2 more rows seed st. and bind off.
FINISHING: Sew up side and sleeve seams. Steam lightly and pull ribbon through beading row.
HAT: Cast on 81 sts. with No. 3 needles. Work in seed st. for 6 rows. Change to lace pattern and work even until the entire piece measures 5 inch. Work in seed st. from now on and decr. 1 st. at beg. of next row. Now decr, as follows:
* work 6 sts., K2 tog., repeat from * across row, work 1 row back in seed st.
* work 5 sts., K2 tog., repeat from * across row, work 1 row back in seed st.
* work 4 sts., K2 tog., repeat from * across row, work 1 row back in seed st.
* work 3 sts., K2 tog., repeat from * across row, work 1 row back in seed st.
* work 2 sts., K2 tog., repeat from * across row, work 1 row back in seed st.
* work 1 st., K2 tog., repeat from * across row, work 1 row back in seed st.
K2 tog. twice, work 28 sts., K2 tog., work 1 st. 4th wrong side. Sew up 3 inch, down center of cap. Crochet around opening 2 rows s. c. Make rosettes of ribbon and sew on each side.
BOOTIES: Cast on 45 sts. with No. 3 needles and work in seed st. for 8 rows. Change to lace pattern and work even until entire piece measures 2¼ inch., ending with 4th row. Decr. 1 st. at end of last row. Next row work beading: * K2, yarn over, K2 tog., repeat from * across row. Change to seed st. and work even for 3 rows Right side facing you, work 31 sts., turn, work back and forth on next 18 sts. (center) for 24 rows. Break yarn. Right side facing you, join yarn at beg. of row and work 13 sts., pick up along one side of gusset 13 sts., work across 18 instep sts., pick up along other side of gusset 13 sts., work to end of row (70 sts. in all). Work 10 rows seed st. Now start to decr, for sole as follows: 1st row: Work 1 st., K2 tog., work 30 sts., K2 tog. twice, work 30 sts., K2 tog., work 1 st., 2nd row: work across in seed st. 3rd row: work 1 st., K2 tog., work 28 sts. K2 tog. across row, pull sts. tog. and fasten off tightly on row: work across in seed st. 5th row: work 1 st., K2 tog., work 26 sts., K2 tog. twice, work 26 sts.. K2 tog., work 1 st. 6th row: work in seed st. Bind off. Fold bootie in half and sew up sole and back seams. Steam lightly and pull ribbon through beading.
