MATERIALS:
Our scarf was originally knitted with Beehive Caressa and used 6 ozs. We made another sample with P & B Speedwell, Quick Knit Wool and found that 8 ozs. were required. To knit this cosy scarf on large needles, be sure to make your choice of wool between the two given here. You will also need: Two No. 5 Beehive Knitting Needles.

MEASUREMENTS: Length 41 ins. Width 10 ins.

Tension: 4½ sts. and 6 rows = 1 inch in Stocking st. Be sure to work to this tension.

Cast on 43 sts.
1st row: K1. *P1. K1. Repeat from * to end of row. Repeat this row 4 times for Moss st.
**6th row: (K1. P1) twice. K4. *P3. K3. Repeat from * to last 5 sts. (K1. P1) twice. K1.
7th row: (K1. P1) twice. K1. *P3. K3. Repeat from * to last 8 sts. P3. (K1. P1) twice. K1.
8th row: As 6th row.
9th and 10th rows: As 6th and 7th rows.
11th row: As 6th row.**
Repeat from ** to ** until work measures 40 ins. from beginning. Repeat 1st. row 5 times. Cast off in Moss st. that is, knit the sts. to be knitted and purl the sts. to be purled while casting off. Press lightly.
