MATERIALS
BERNAT Nylo Germantown (2 oz. skeins) — 1
1 pair straight knitting needles No. 8 OR ANY SIZE NEEDLES WHICH WILL GIVE THE STITCH GAUGE GIVEN BELOW
1 steel crochet hook No. 00

GAUGE: 5 sts = 1 inch

PATTERN STITCH: Multiple of 6 sts.
Row 1: * P 2, K 2 tog, do not drop st from needle, K first st on left hand needle once more, drop both sts from needle (a right twist made), make another right twist on next 2 sts, repeat from * across row.
Row 2: * K 2, P 4, repeat from * across row.
Row 3: * P 2, K 1, make a right twist on next 2 sts, K 1, repeat from * across row.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern stitch.

DIRECTIONS: Cast on 78 sts. Work even in pattern st for 4½ inches, ending, with a wrong side row. FIRST DEC ROW: * P 2, K 2, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row. P 1 row. SECOND DEC ROW: * K 2 tog, K 3, repeat from * across row. THIRD DEC ROW: P 2 tog across row. FOURTH DEC ROW: K 2 tog across row. FIFTH DEC ROW: P 1, P 2 tog across row — 7 sts. Break off, leaving a 12 inch end. Draw end through sts on needle and pull up tightly. Sew back seam.

FINISHING: With right side facing you, work 1 row s c around lower edge. Block.
